How many legumes should you eat a day?
Legumes have a high fiber content that absorbs cholesterol. As a result, it does not stick to the vascular wall. The Mediterranean Diet recommends that people eat legumes and nuts daily as a healthier way to get your daily protein.
¾ cup (175ml) of beans equals one portion of meat. Beans contain more protein than any other plant. About 1/4 of your plate should be legumes according to the American plate plate for protein portions. |
